Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a saucepan, combine apples and water; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally and mashing the apples with a spoon, until apples form a coarse puree, 10–12 minutes.
Stir in Splenda Sweetener and flour; cook 2–3 minutes more, stirring constantly until sweetener dissolves and mixture is thickened. Stir in cinnamon. Let cool.
Unroll pie crusts; cut each one into four wedges. Roll each wedge into a 6” circle.
Place 3 tablespoons apple mixture on each circle; moisten edges of dough with water and fold dough over to form a half-moon shape. Crimp to seal and cut vents to release steam.
Place on prepared pan; brush tops with egg white.
Bake 15–20 minutes or until turnovers are browned. Cool turnovers on a wire rack 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Note
To further lower saturated fat, make this Homemade Pie Crust with Splenda Granulated Sweetener instead of using refrigerated pie crusts.
